Description:
The Peace Alliance Foundation is part of a global network working to build a culture of peace with nonviolence and cooperation as organizing principles. [….I]t is essential to develop the components of a culture of peace (i.e., values, processes, behavioral norms, institutional infrastructure, etc.) and make sure that they are functioning in small ways so that, when demand for change reaches its tipping point, they will already be in place. The pressure for this change is building all over the United States -- indeed, the world – in the form of groups, organizations and individuals who already go about their daily activities using principles of cooperation and nonviolence.” A related organization in the United States is the Peace Alliance, http://www.thepeacealliance.org/campaign_oview.htm, which is working to pass legislation to create a federal Department of Peace.
