Progressive Roundtable Convening Outcome
Progressive Roundtable Convening Outcome
The first Progressive Roundtable convening on March 2-5, 2006, was a great success, thanks to the enthusiastic participation and hard work of the members. The participants came from across the country, representing many major progressive organizations such as Center for American Progress, Demos, Campaign for America’s Future, Democracy Alliance, MoveOn, Fenton Communications, and Lake Research Partners. They also represented considerable diversity of expertise, including communications, marketing and market research, framing and language development, public relations, political strategy, public policy, media production, social action, academia, business, and philanthropy.
The conference process was directed toward generating concrete results. By the end of the convening, the participants had made recommendations for twelve new components of infrastructure for the progressive movement, six of which rose to the top of the priority list.
If you want to be involved in creating new infrastructure to meet one or more of the priority needs, download an electronic copy of the Letter of Interest (LOI) and the process for submitting LOIs.
The Progressive Roundtable website will continue to be a hub for building progressive infrastructure. We encourage you to:
- Check out the prioritized infrastructure needs and notes from the Progressive Roundtable sessions
- Use the Resource Library and contribute new materials for others to use
- Complete your personal profile in the Participant Directory if you have not already done so
- List your organization and others in the Organization Directory
- Interact with your fellow participants in the Roundtable Forums
If you have questions about the Progressive Roundtable for which you cannot find answers on the website, or if you are a funder interested in supporting the development of infrastructure, please contact the conference director, Dr. Katherine (Kate) Forrest, at kforrest@commonwealinstitute.
